Where are we?

Strategic spending doesn’t mean skipping things we love. Food expenses add up quickly but, more importantly, they sneak in like a con artist skiding into your DMs. $6 for a drink waiting for the trsin, $14 for a box lunch halfway to New York. A $10 snack when the train was delayed… it would have been easy to spend $60 on the way to NY and hardly notice until the credit card statement came.

On Jan 3, 2026 we are guests on the Queen Mary 2 for the 3rd time. The crossing sets sail under a full moon rising. 8-days slicing through the cold open Atlantic waters to England.

The glitz of Christmas and New Year’s Eve bling must have left New York with a hardworking fingersnap. January 2nd some holiday glamour lingered but outside Penn station the dazzling energy was slow for NYC but it allure of this big city was in full force.
